Super Bowl...or not?

After working Sunday brunch, and giving my wife Tamar a break to go to yoga, I chose to ride instead of watching the start of the Super Bowl. (Got my priorities correct, right?) I returned from Las Vegas to find another $1,000 pledge from Simon's anesthesiologist, Dr. Mayhew, who works at the University of Mississippi Medical Center . Thank You! Now if I can only figure out how to post offline donations to the First Giving site, I'll be adding over $3,000 to the goal. Perfect riding weather in the low sixties today. Went out about 4pm along Old Canton Road, Pear Orchard and up into Ridgeland on the trails. Spent sometime after three miles trying to fix my helmet that lost a snap. Will have to stop by the Bike Rack tommorow to get some help from Tim or Michael. The entire staff there have given me some great advice since I started on this journey. Came back down Hwy 51 and the frontage road and back through Fondren. Completed 28 miles in 2 hrs. 12 mins. riding 12.3 mph. Burned 806 calories and rode elevations of 1132ft. Still haven't figured out how to stop my I-phone battery from running low after 2 hrs. Really smooth ride today.Felt strong most of the way without ever feeling winded. The bike seat is comfortable and each time out I'm getting more out of the gears. I do think I need to build up my upper body strength. Stay tuned...
